Lula Bell, my mother’s mother loved hats and her favorite color was red. With my first allowance, I bought her great big brimmed red hat with feathers on the crown and on the brim. Every time I see a Cardinal Red Poppy, I think of my grandmother and how she looks like a great big flower.
